happy happy halloween!! oct is always a busy month for me bc it’s my birthday month - so unfortunately i didn’t get to read as much as i’d like. but here’s a little insight into what life was like during my fav month of the year 🤎

1 - i went to my first apple orchard with my bestie @sweetlyreading ! we got SO MANY apple flavored things lol
2 - meet cappuccino! the cutest, sweetest neighborhood cat ever 🥹
3 - i got a new bookshelf and dedicated it entirely to romance reads 🤭
4 - uhh, donut sign? lol
5 - my reaction to seeing the amazing birthday cake my friends ordered for me from @michellesmasterpieces_ 💗 if anyone is in the LA area and wants the cutest custom cakes, she’s the best!!
6 - met up with my cousin and had kbbq hehe
7 - @midnitepages ‘s son plagg talking to a wall, so real

✨ the woman in me reflection

im very hesitant to ever call my look back at a memoir a “review” - because saying i reviewed someone’s life story feels a bit detached - but i’m more than happy to recommend a book to you guys! this is a great one for that, especially for a glimpse into what the media and society can and will do to a young girl in the spotlight.

i think regardless of whether or not you’re a fan of britney, there’s something you can take away from this, which is why i loved it so much. it feel less as if she was reciting her life, and more as if she was acting as a spokesperson for the negative effects of fame. it was such an enlightening, fast paced, and informative read. 💖

the bridge kingdom fairyloot set 🗡️🌊

y’all… i wish i could properly articulate how much i LOVE the bridge kingdom series by @danielleljensen 🩵 as someone who doesn’t normally enjoy the fantasy genre, reading this series was a huge leap of faith for me and it paid off in DROVES. everything about this series (plot, atmosphere, characterization, etc.) is an absolute five stars and keeps me recommending it time and time again.

i loved these books so much that they were the first purchase i ever made from @fairyloot! 💗 these editions are so gorgeous and i have my fingers crossed that the next 4 in the series will also be available one day, so i can add them to my ever growing collection 🤞

🧡 firecracker by claire foster review

guys, firecracker is finally out!!! man have i been waiting for this book ever since i got back into booksta, and @authorclairefoster DELIVERED. all my expectations were met and then some - i was truly blown away by such an amazing debut novel.

the chemistry between the characters in this book were just… wow. seriously. i love beau and tessa’s relationship so much 🥹 and i really feel like the characters just jumped off the page. my cutie sweetie pie honey bunch jesse had all of 5 seconds to win my heart and he did because the writing was just that good 👌

overall, such a great first book both in this series and from claire 🥹 i can’t wait to read more about the McAbees and their loved ones!

confession: i am EXTREMELY picky when it comes to my reads (im a serial DNFer lol) and most of the time, the books that go viral on booktok or booksta aren’t necessarily to my taste 🥹 BUTTTT when they are, they are AMAZING, and i have to give them their flowers.

with that being said, here are the 5 booktok (and booksta) books that i think are really worth the hype they get! i think all of these books are AMAZING and are five star reads for me. i recommend them again and again to people - including you, reading this rn! 😋

there are so many amazing lgbtq+ reads for us to celebrate this month, and the heartstopper series is my all time favorite! nick and charlie’s stories are so special to me and i love seeing them having such a great support system. they mean so much to me 🌈
